Apple Tablet Prototype Pics Surface Ahead of Media Event

· by · News

Images of what appear to be an Apple tablet device made their way onto the Web Wednesday morning ahead of the company's special media event in San Francisco.

The photos, posted by Engadget, show a tablet device bolted to a table and running what looks to be a version of the iPhone OS. The glass surface and dimensions also look to match the images The Mac Observer obtained.

Apple will be hosting a special media event today at 10AM pacific time at the Yerba Buena Center. Rumors and alleged leaks suggest the company has been working on a tablet device that runs the iPhone OS, sports a 10-inch multi-touch display, includes a front-facing camera for video chats, supports Wi-Fi and 3G wireless networks, and more.

Engadget's images, as well as TMO's, seem to support the theory that Apple will introduce its fabled tablet today.
