Apple Update Improves Power Consumption for MacBook Air & Pro

MacBook AirApple released “MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 1.0” on Wednesday, a software update for those two devices that improves power consumption and “compatibility with some USB devices.”

The update is specific models “introduced since June of 2012,” which is limited as of this writing to the new models introduced during June’s World Wide Developer Conference keynote. That includes new MacBook Air models, the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and new 13” and 15” MacBook Pro units.

The update is a 76.64MB download as a standalone update from Apple’s support site. Users with eligible systems should also see the update in Software Update.
