Apple Updates Canon Print Drivers for Snow Leopard

Canon PrinterApple released Canon Printer Drivers 2.5 for Mac OS X 10.6.1 and higher on Wednesday. The update includes new drivers for many of Canon’s printers and all-in-one printers and scanners.

The update may or may not appear in Apple’s Software Update application depending on whether or not a Canon printer is available to your computer. If the update isn’t visible, the installer can be downloaded for free at the Apple Support Web site.

Thanks for the direct link. My Software Update didn’t see it right away.

Yeah, they don’t always show up in all cases.

It appeared in Software Update for me. I downloaded and installed, but I haven’t tried printing or scanning yet. What is this supposed to do for me?

I’m not really sure exactly what it adds, but it’s typically better compatibility and support for additional models.
