· by · Product News

GarageBand 5Apple updated GarageBand 5, a component of iLife 09, to version 5.0.1, an update that includes a fix for problems affecting the software's new Learn to Play Lesson feature. According to the patch notes, "This update improves overall stability and addresses specific issues with downloading lessons from the Learn to Play Lesson Store. It is recommended for all GarageBand ’09 users."

Learn to Play Lessons feature celebrity musicians showing GarageBand users how to play their songs, and it was one of the more talked about features in the iLife 09 upgrade. There have been problems with the feature since its release, but this update should correct that.

The patch is a 26.7 MB download through Software Update if you have GarageBand 5 (iLife 09) installed. The update is free if you have iLife 09, and the full version of iLife 09 is $79 ($74.49 from Amazon).
