Apple Updates iPod classic, shuffle [Updated]

Along with new iPod touch models, Apple also updated the iPod classic and iPod shuffle during its special media event on Wednesday. The new iPod classic sports a bigger hard drive, and the iPod shuffle gained new colors along with a chrome special edition model.

The new iPod classic ships with a 160GB hard drive and is priced at US$249.

The iPod shuffle: In color, again.

Along with the 4GB iPod shuffle model, Apple introduced a new 2GB model. Both sport the same buttonless design as the model they replace. The new models are available in blue, green, pink, black or silver, and include earbuds with a inline controls.

Apple also said that Sony, V-MODA, Klipsch and Scosche are making iPod shuffle-compatible headphones, and that Belkin and Scosche offer inline control adapters for other headphones and earbuds.

The 2GB iPod shuffle costs $59 and the 4GB model is priced at $79. A special edition polished 4GB model is also available for $99.
