baKno announced Tuesday the release of MacPool 9, and the update to the pool simulation game adds the ability to do play-by-turn games with other people. MacPool 9 offers 9-ball, 8-ball and 14:1 pool games, with Snooker and 3-balls billiards available as add-ons to the game.
The new feature is called "deferred match mode," which allows users to play other players remotely (an e-mail address is required). The game is accessed through a URL, and is updated as each player makes his or her turn. This mode is in addition to an online gaming mode for real-time play.
Minimum Requirements:
- Mac OS X Version 10.2 or higher
- Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel
- 6.8 MB Hard Drive space
The update is free to registered users, and the full version is priced at US$19.95. As of this writing, baKno is offering two licenses at a discount of $29.95, and the company offers a fully-functional demo as a download, as well.
