The Beats Music app for iOS was updated to version 2.1.0 on Thursday in the wake of Apple's announcement to purchase both Beats Music and Beats Electronics. The update includes a price drop on an annual subscription to the music streaming business from $119.88 down to $99.99. The company—which will still operate as a standalone entity until at least the fiscal 4th quarter of 2014—also extended its free trial offer from 7 days to 14.

The patch notes on the release:
- We're stoked to announce that our no strings attached trial has been extended to 14 days to ensure everyone gets ample time to explore the full Beats Music experience.
- We've dropped price of our yearly subscription to $99.99, down from $119.88.
- To top it off, we pushed tons of bug fixes so the whole experience runs smooth as silk.
Beats Music is a free download. It only has a few hundred thousand subscribers, and thanks to the acquisition by Apple, many people are going to be curious about what it is that Apple bought. Beats Music has positioned itself as offering the best experience for streaming music, including the ability to stream music according to your mood (as shown in the screenshot on the right).
The two week free trial makes it easier for you to check it out.
