tagtraum announced the immediate availability of beaTunes 2.0 on Thursday. The new version of the iTunes library management and metadata application added the ability to detect tone or musical key for individual tracks, and added a second beats per minute detection algorithm.

Version 2 also handles large music libraries better, supports multiple iTunes libraries, offers better accuracy when inspecting typos, and added new inspections such as compilation, duplicates, rare genres, different ratings and sort issues.

beaTunes 2.0 is priced at US$31.95 and is available for download at the tagtraum Web site. Upgrades for version 1 users cost $11.95.
