Boxee Releases New Alpha App for Mac, New API

Boxee rolled out a new pre-beta version of its boxee application for the Mac and Apple TV on Tuesday. The alpha software build added a new boxee browser, and supports Hulu, Pandora and RadioTime.

Boxee also released a new API which will allow developers enhance and customize the boxee application. The API is based on Python and XML, and the company plans to let developers share their modules on the Boxee App Box -- a Web-based repository for boxee software add-ons.

boxee for the Mac and Apple TV is available for download at the Boxee Web site.
