The Camino Project released Camino 2.0 on Wednesday afternoon with improved security features, enhanced tabbed browsing, and more.

Version 2.0 of the cross-platform Web browser added support for Google Safe Browsing, displays warnings for secure Web pages with invalid certificates, added a thumbnail grid to the Tab Overview, and added the ability to drag and drop to rearrange browser window tabs.

The update also now displays Growl alerts when downloads start and finish, added the last 20 closed Web pages to the History menu, improved full keyboard access, improved AppleScript support, and added the Gecko 1.9 rendering engine for better Web site and plug-in compatibility.

Camino 2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and is available as a free download at the Camino Project Web site. MacUpdate is offering an alternate download link because the Camino Web site is currently experiencing heavy traffic.

Camino is not a cross-platform browser. Also, Camino 2.0 requires 10.4+, not 10.3.9+.
