Cartoon Network Ships FusionFall MMO
January 13th, 2009 at 11:18 AM - Games by Brad Cook
Cartoon Network on Tuesday announced the Wednesday release of FusionFall, a massively multiplayer online game aimed at kids and starring many of the channel's stable of characters, including Dexter, the Powerpuff Girls, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. The game, which runs in a web browser, features an invasion of the Cartoon Network world by Planet Fusion, which has begun to infect everyone and everything with Fusion matter.
Players explore over 60 playable zones -- new ones as well as areas drawn from Cartoon Network shows -- as they take on missions, defeat Fusion monsters, and battle dark versions of Cartoon Network characters. Along the way, they earn nanos, smaller versions of the game's characters who grant players bonus powers. Cartoon Network and developer Grigon Entertainment promise that new content will be added to FusionFall on a regular basis.
In conjunction with Majesco Entertainment, Cartoon Network will release a Victory Pack (US$19.99) retail version of the game, which will include a four-month subscription, a game guide, and codes for two exclusive outfits and weapons. FusionFall subscriptions are $5.95 per month, or $9.95 per month for a family plan that includes up to four accounts.
System requirements call for Mac OS X version 10.4 (10.5 recommended), a 2GHz Intel processor (2.4GHz recommended), 512MB RAM (2GB recommended), and an NVIDIA or ATI video card.
