Cheetah3D 5 Updates 3D Rendering Engine, Adds Collada Support

Martin Wengenmayer announced the immediate availability of Cheetah3D 5.0 on Thursday. The new version of the 3D modeling application sports a redesigned rendering engine optimized for up to 16 CPU cores, and added support for the Collada file format.

Version 5.0 also added a new node-based material system with procedural textures and shaders, pivot points, a bevel tool, a bend modifier tool, German localization, and more.

Cheetah3D 5.0 is priced at US$149 and is available at the Cheetah3D Web site. Upgrades from earlier versions cost $69.
