China gets iPad mini & iPhone 5 in Early December

· by · News

iPhone 5 and iPad mini hit China in DecemberApple's new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad with Retina Display are set to launch in China on Friday, December 7. The iPhone 5 is scheduled to hit store shelves in the country a week later on December 14.

Apple is already selling the iPad mini and fourth generation iPad with Retina Display in 42 countries, and the iPhone 5 in 47 countries. Launching its latest iOS devices in China will add a new potential customer base in the millions with carriers like China Mobile hosting 600 million subscribers -- more than the total number of people in some countries.

Word of Apple's planned December device launches in China surfaced yesterday on November 29, although the company didn't officially confirm the news or offer firm release dates until this morning.

The Cupertino-based company didn't say what customers will need to do if they want to get their new iPhone or iPad on launch day. If the company follows its procedure from other China launches, however, shoppers will likely need to reserve their device purchase ahead of time.
