China Gets iPhone 4, New Stores Sept 25

Apple will be launching the iPhone 4 in China on September 25, and the company will host two new store grand openings in the country the same day, too. Apple’s newest Beijing and Shanghai stores will be open in time for the iPhone 4 launch event.

The iPhone 4 will officially be available for purchase in China at 8 AM local time at Apple’s own retail stores along with China Unicom locations.

Apple’s latest combination iPod and smartphone will be priced at CNY4,999 for the 16GB model and CNY5,999 for 32GB without a contract, although customers can get better deals when the sign a two year service contract with China Unicom.

Along with the iPhone 4 launch, Apple will open its Hong Kong Plaza store in Shanghai and its Xidan Joy City store in Beijing on the 25th. Apple already has two retail stores open in the country.
