Apple released LED Cinema Display Firmware Update 1.0 late on Wednesday to address audio-related issues. The update corrects an problem some 27-inch Cinema Display users have experienced where their display’s built-in speakers stop playing audio.

Installing the update involves a few extra steps since it involves the display’s firmware instead of your computer’s firmware. Some users, for example, will need to disconnect and reconnect their display’s USB cable at a specific point during the installation process. The installer application includes detailed instructions.
LED Cinema Display Firmware Update 1.0 requires Mac OS X 10.6.5 and is available as a free download at the Apple Support Web site.
