Data Robotics Intros 8-bay, 16TB DroboPro

· by · Product News

DroboProData Robotics announced the immediate availability of the DroboPro on Tuesday. The new version of the multi-hard drive storage system supports up to eight hard drives for up to 16TB of storage.

The DroboPro includes FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and iSCSI, is rack mountable, supports hot-swapping hard drives, mixing hard drive sizes, and uses Drobo's BeyondRAID technology to let users mix hard drive capacities and speeds.

In a move to add appeal for business environments, the DroboPro also allows the device to be partitioned into as many as 16 separate Smart Volumes -- partitions that only use the space of their contents -- allowing for much greater flexibility and data management.

The DroboPro is priced starting at US$1,299.
