DualDrive Replaces MacBook/Pro Optical Drive with Second Hard Drive

PowerbookMedic announced Wednesday DualDrive, a converter that allows MacBook and MacBook Pro owners to replace their optical drive with a second hard drive. The device has a maximum capacity of 750GB for pre Unibody MacBook and MacBook Pro models, and GB for Unibody models.

DualDrive pricing starts at US$59.95 for a bare unit with no drive installed, and goes up to $259.95 for the 750GB 5400RPM model. The company offers a video on its Web site demonstrating the device and showing how it's installed. There is also a series of charts showing the maximum capacity of Apple's various portables with a DualDrive installed.
