EarthDesk Adds GPU Support for New Macs

Xeric Design announced the immediate availability of EarthDesk 5.5 on Wednesday. The update for the real-time Earth view as a Mac OS X desktop added the ability to render images using the dual GPU features in Macs with i5 and i7 processors.

EarthDesk replaces your desktop image with an animated view of Earth that changes in real time. It can display seasonal maps, real-time cloud data, political boundaries, city lights, moonlight, star fields, and more.

EarthDesk 5.5 is priced at US$24.95 and is available for download at the Xeric Design Web site. The update is free for version 5 users.
