Evernote 5 Adds New Organization & Search Features

Evernote plans to release a public beta of Evernote 5 for the Mac this week with a redesigned interface, and improved organization and search features. Evernote is an online service with companion apps for managing notes, ideas and other bits of information.

Evernote 5 for the Mac includes a new sidebar where users can drag to organize their notes and notebooks, manage note tags, and store saved searches. Searches are faster with Evernote's new type ahead feature that offers suggestions based on your Evernote content, personal and shared notebooks are grouped together, and the new Atlas feature lets users view notes based on location. Version 5 also includes Mountain Lion Notification Center support.

The public beta of Evernote 5 is free, and requires a free Evernote account. The app will be available for download by the end of the week.
