Evernote 5 Hits the Mac App Store

Evernote announced the immediate availability of Evernote 5 for the Mac on Thursday. The new version of the information organization app and service includes a redesigned user interface, new search option, better note editing, and improved collaboration features.

Evernote 5 for the Mac includes a new sidebar where users can drag to organize their notes and notebooks, manage note tags, and store saved searches. Searches are faster with Evernote's new type ahead feature that offers suggestions based on your Evernote content, personal and shared notebooks are grouped together, and the new Atlas feature lets users view notes based on location. Version 5 also includes Mountain Lion Notification Center support.

Users can also sync with Evernote for the iPhone or iPad for access to their content on the go.

Users will need a free Evernote account to take advantage of the app. Evernote 5 is available as a free download at Apple's Mac App Store.
