FileMaker announced the immediate availability of FileMaker Go 12 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Wednesday to go along with the release of FileMaker Pro 12 for the Mac and Windows. The new versions of the iOS apps include support for FileMaker Pro 12 databases, multi-tasking, and AirPlay.

FileMaker Go 12 also includes support for location-based tracking for database records, the ability to add files to a database, the ability to record video and audio directly into database entries, and export records as Excel documents and CSV-based text files.

FileMaker Go 11 was priced at US$19.99 for the iPhone and $39.99 for the iPad. FileMaker Pro product manager Rick Kalman told The Mac Observer the company dropped the price for version 12 because it “wanted to make it easier to deploy mobile databases.”

FileMaker Go 12 for the iPhone and iPod touch, and FileMaker Go 12 for the iPad are available as free downloads at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
