Finland’s Elisa to Sell Unlocked iPhones

· by · News

Shoppers in Finland will be able to buy iPhones that aren’t locked to a single carrier starting on Thursday. Cell service operator Elisa will sell the iPhone 4 without a service contract to customers so they can use the combination iPod and smartphone on any carrier’s wireless network, according to YLE Uutiset.

Customers will still have the option to buy their iPhone 4 at a discount if they also purchase an Elisa service contract.

The iPhone 4 is Apple’s latest smartphone offering. It sports a high resolution multi-touch Retina Display, a 5 megapixel digital camera that can capture 720p HD video, a front-facing camera for FaceTime video chats, and more.

Elisa will sell the unlocked iPhone 4 for €589 for the 16GB model, and €689 for the 32GB version.
