Flipboard Adds YouTube, Google+ Support

Flipboard released an updated version of its self-named social network and news aggregation app on Friday that added support for YouTube and Google+. The app is available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and now the Android platform, too.

Flipboard 1.9.3 now lets users follow their Google+ circles and view videos in followed YouTube channels, and added localization support for Germany, Italy, Korea, Netherlands and Spain.

Along with support for more content, Flipboard also released versions of its app for Google’s Android platform, and the Kindle Fire and Nook ebook readers. The app will also come bundled on Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone.

Flipboard for iOS is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
