Macworld/iWorld Highlight: Our iPhone Photography Friends

| Macworld/iWorld Expo

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Digital photography, including iPhone photography, are becoming an area of increasing focus at Macworld/iWorld.  This year was no different in that the conference staff invited iPhone, and other digital photographers, of all levels to submit their work for inclusion in a Digital Art Gallery, which was displayed on the second level of Moscone West in Sanfrancisco.

Thirty six entries were selected.  As your humble author was perusing them, he noted that not one, not two, but four of the works selected were by people he's met at Macworld/iWorld or photo-related events.  For your consideration, here's their work.

Nice!

The original article stated that iOS devices were used for both taking and post-processing these photos. Further research revealed while this was the case with Antonio, Mark took his photo with a DSLR and post-processing was done on an iMac, and Kirschen was a mix, taking the picture with a DSLR, but the post-processing was done with an iPad.

Metadata?

Metadata is a great way of identifying the source of a digital image, and even tools used for post-processing, but is a bit of a problem when you only have access to physical prints and not the original digital images smile

It was an honor to have my photograph exhibited this year as well as last. Thanks to TMO for the recognition.  I think of more general interest to TMO readers is what the Digital Art Gallery says about Macworld | iWorld on a broader scale.  I’ve written more from my perspective on my blog, but I think this gallery is really a microcosm of the new face of Macworld. For what it’s worth, I think this is a great new face.  My thoughts are on my blog at http://twinlakesimages.zenfolio.com/blog/2013/2/return-to-macworld-2013
