GarageBand for iPad Adds Import, AirPlay Support

Apple released GarageBand 1.0.1 for the iPad on Wednesday, adding support for wireless audio playback via AirPlay, along with support for importing several audio file formats. GarageBand is Apple’s audio editing and song mixing app.

The new version of GarageBand includes support for audio output through Apple’s AirPlay, Bluetooth, and HDMI with the Apple Digital AV Adapter. The app can now import WAV, CVAF, AIFF and Apple Loops audio files, supports copy and paste audio from other apps, and fixed several bugs and performance issues.

GarageBand for iPad is priced at US$4.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store. The update is free for current users.
