Google Buys Like.com Visual Search Engine

· by · News

Internet search giant Google is expanding yet again with the purchase of Like.com. The company is known for its visually-based search tools for online shopping.

“We were the first to bring visual search to shopping, the first to buils an automated cross-matching sustem for clothing, and more. We didn’t stop there, and we don’t have plans to stop now,” said Like.com CEO Munjal Shah. “We see joining Google as a way to supersize our vision and supercharge our passion.”

Like.com’s visual search tools lets users look for clothes, shoes, jewelry and other decor, and then see which items go well together.

Google and Like.com aren’t discussing the terms of their deal, although it seems likely that Google will use the technology it just bought to enhance its own online product search and shopping features.
