Google Scores PA Semi Staff in Startup Purchase

| News

Google recently purchased Agnilux, a startup company comprised of many former PA Semi employees. PA Semi is the chip design company Apple purchased in 2008, and now it appears that Google landed at least some of the talent Apple originally bought with its acquisition.

Apparently Agnilux had previously been involved in strategic investment talks with Microsoft, Cisco and Texas Instruments, although just exactly what the company does is something of a mystery, according to peHUB.

The company was started by former PA Semi employees Amarjeet Gill, Mark Hayter and Puneet Kumar after Apple purchased the company.

PA Semi founder, Dan Dobberpuhl, apparently left Apple to join Agnilux ahead of the Google purchase, too. Apple kept Mr. Dobberpuhl on the payroll after 2008 the acquisition to run the system-on-chip design team for the iPhone and iPod.

Google isn’t talking about what it plans to do with Agnilux now that it owns the company.

It’s like grade school all over again.  Google and Apple are the two team captains, all of these former PA staff are the kids to pick.

I guess Google is getting ready to dump HTC after they loose their lawsuit.
