Software developer HairerSoft announced the release of Amadeus Pro 1.4, the company's multitrack audio editor for Mac OS X on Tuesday. The new version adds two brand-new real-time analysis tools, improved batch processing, better handling of multi-track documents, new key shortcuts, as well as improved performance. The update also boasts various improvements to the application's user interface.
Amadeus Pro is optimized for any audio-related task, such as live audio recording, digitizing tapes and records, converting between a variety of sound formats, and more. Thanks to its direct-to-disk abilities and waveform caching, edits on arbitrarily large sounds, even beyond the usual 2GB limit, are performed nearly instantaneously.
The handling of large sounds is facilitated by the extensive support of markers. Its sound repairing and denoising abilities make Amadeus Pro particularly suited for transferring vinyl records to CD.
Amadeus Pro currently supports English, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Finnish and Danish language formats.
Amadeus Pro is available for a US$40 shareware registration fee or a $25 upgrade fee for existing Amadeus II users. The program requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and a PowerPC or Intel-based Mac with 31 megabytes of hard drive space to install and run.
