iMac G5 Slipping Away

· by · News

Appleis 20-inch iMac G5, the last of the non-Intel iMacs, is slipping a little closer to the end of its life. The online Apple Store now lists the iMac G5 as shipping in 2-4 business days. About two weeks ago, Apple updated the shipping time from 24 hours to 1-2 business days. Historically, Apple product shipping times slip behind as they get closer to being discontinued.

iMac G5: 2-4 shipping days closer to oblivion.

The iMac G5 was replaced in January at Macworld Expo with a new model that uses the Intel Core Duo processor. The Intel version of the iMac uses a very different processor, but maintains the same exterior as the G5 model it replaces.

The 20-inch G5 iMac includes a 2.1GHz G5 processor, 512MG RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 8x SuperDrive, Apple Remote, Front Row, built-in iSight camera, and more.
