iNotePad Gets OS X Compatibility

While not a major issue, many users have complained that OS X does not ship with a version of the System 8/9 Note Pad. There are many replacement options, and another one is now available. Vincent Jalby has updated his note pad replacement, iNotePad, to version 1.5b1. The latest version is a time limited beta, and offers OS X compatibility. According to Mr. Jalby:

I am pleased to announce that I have released today a beta version of iNotePad 1.5, a replacement for Appleis NotePad.

iNotePad is available for Mac OS 8/9 (iNotePad Classic) and for Mac OS X (iNotePad Carbon).

This (test) version expires on 06/30/2001.

New in this version:

  • Carbon version for Mac OS X.
  • It can store up to 700 notes.
  • "Padlock" button to lock notes.
  • Automatic backup.
  • Encryption of the database.
  • Drag and drop reordering of notes and folders.
  • New interface closier to Mac OS X interface.

iNotePad is the definitive alternative to Appleis NotePad. It has much more features but it keeps simplicity and ease of use of Apple?Note Pad. It can store styled text notes, save them as text file or clipping, print them. You can encrypt any note, and use alarm/reminder.

With iPublish, you can publish your note(s) on the Internet with one mouse click!
