· by Mike Washlesky · News

Tenon Intersystems has released an update for iTools, bringing it to version 7.2. iTools is a server tool suite designed for Web developers needing to configure Apache directly from the Aqua desktop. The update adds Panther support and a built-in search engine. According to Tenon Intersystems:

iTools 7.2, heralded for its "simplicity and power" in the October 2003 issue of Macworld, saves Webmasters money by letting them implement an unlimited number of Web sites on Mac OS X 10.3 client platforms.

New iTools 7.2 features turn Panther clients into secure, mullti-domain, easy-to manage Web servers, dns servers, and ftp servers. In fact, iTools 7.2 has features that even Appleis new Panther server lacks:

  • ability to switch between Apache 2 and Apache 1.3
  • multi-level administration to enable ISPs to let Webmasters manage their own domains
  • built-in high-performance Web search engine
  • GUI management for MySQL
  • built-in logging analysis for both Web and mail

You can find more information about the iTools update at the Tenon Intersystems Web site. iTools 7.2 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$349.00, and US$299.00 for WebSTAR customers.
