iCloud: Restoring Bookmarks from Backup

A while back, I wrote a tip about how you can restore contacts, calendars, and synced iCloud Drive files through iCloud.com. Well, now Apple has added a way to restore your synced bookmarks, as well, so just in case you’ve removed That Entire Folder of Critically Important Business Bookmarks (you know the one), you have a failsafe to get it back. So to do that, visit iCloud.com, log in with your Apple ID, and open the Settings.

Once those load, scroll to the very bottom of the page, which is where you’ll find all of your restoring options.

If you click the “Restore Bookmarks” one, you’ll see the archives available for recovery.

You’ll really want to pay attention to the caveats it gives you, too (note that this will replace ALL of your bookmarks—you can’t do any individual folders or links).

Anyway, once you’re done restoring, you should have all of your stuff back! This is a really great option for those of you who don’t keep on-site backups.

Oh, yeah, and those of you who don’t keep on-site backups should REALLY go ahead and rectify that. Like, yesterday. I’m just saying.
