iCloud Adds Movie Storage Support

Apple’s iTunes in the Cloud, which is part of its iCloud service, added support for movies on Wednesday. Along with iCloud movie support, Apple CEO Tim Cook also announced that iTunes Store movies will be available in at 1080p resolution, which fits nicely with today’s update for the Apple TV.

Customers will be able to re-download movies they previously purchased at 1080p resolution. Movies were previously available at 720p resolution.

Apple also introduced a new Apple TV model on Wednesday with 1080p support. It will be available in about a week for US$99.

Apple’s media event is still underway, so be sure to check back with The Mac Observer for additional product announcements, and be sure to follow along with our live on-location coverage, too.
