· by · Product News

iHome announced a new lineup of iPhone, iPod touch an iPad audio systems on Tuesday, ahead of this week’s Consumer Electronics Show. The new products include AirPlay-compatible wireless speaker systems along with speaker stands and clock radio docks.

The iW1 Speaker System supports Apple’s AirPlay wireless media streaming platform introduced with iOS 4.2, along with multi-room audio with additional iW1 units. It includes a built-in rechargeable batter and recharging base, a USB port for iPhone and iPod docking, four speakers, Bongiovi Acoustics Digital Power Station (DPS) technology.

The system requires iTunes 10.1 or higher, a Wi-Fi network, and an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 4.2 or higher. iHome hasn’t announced when the iW1 will be available, but customers can sign up at the company Web site for product update notifications.

iHome will be showing off the iW1 at CES starting on January 6.
