iMovie Update Adds MacBook Pro Retina Display Support

Apple released iMovie 9.0.6 for the Mac on Tuesday. The update for the movie editing application added support for the high resolution retina display on the new MacBook Pro.

Along with retina display support, the update also added language support for Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Greek, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, Turkish and Ukrainian.

The MacBook Pro with Retina Display was introduced during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference keynote presentation on Monday. Along with the high resolution display, the new laptop includes solid state storage instead of spinning hard drives, dual Thunderbolt ports, USB 3.0 support, and more.

iMovie is part of Apple’s iLife Suite and is available through the Mac App Store for US$14.99. The update is free for iMovie ‘11 users.
