The popular online image sharing social network Instagram is branching out from its iOS roots with the introduction of Web-based profiles. The online profile pages will highlight user's recent photos, and visitors can comment on images, just as they do in the Instagram iPhone app.
Instagram's new Web profiles
Instagram Web Profiles are rolling out for users over the next week, and will show only photos users have set as public. For now, the new Web service will support viewing and commenting, but photos will still need to be uploaded through the Instagram app.
The Instagram service is free, as is the Instagram app for the iPhone. The app is available for download at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
