Instagram announced the immediate availability of Instagram 2.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on Tuesday. The update for the self-named app and social photo sharing service added support for substantially higher resolution photos, along with image rotation.

Version 2.0 supports image sizes up to 1936 x 1936 on the iPhone 4 and 1536 x 1535 on the iPhone 3GS. It also added live filters for previewing effects before snapping a photo, includes four new image filters, adds instant tilt-shift focus, made image borders optional, and improved performance when applying filters.
Instagram 2.0 is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
