Instapaper 3 Adds New Social Features, More

Marco Arment released Instapaper 3.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on Friday. The update for the Web article reader app added the ability to follow other Instapaper users and to find friends via Twitter and Facebook.

Version 3 added a new storage engine that offers faster article downloads, better image quality and more efficient use of storage space. It also added offline sharing support for Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinboard and Evernote, added support for creating Things tasks in the Share panel, added support for searching downloaded articles by title or content, and more.

Instapaper 3.0 is priced at US$4.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
