iPad Launches in S Korea on Nov 30

· by · News

South Korea’s KT announced on Monday that it will begin selling Apple’s iPad on November 30. The cell service provider began pre-selling the multimedia tablet early in November without announcing an official launch date.

KT has received about 60,000 pre-orders before the launch date was announced. The company expects it could sell upwards of 200,000 units before the end of the year.

The iPad is Apple’s multimedia tablet device that runs iOS, just like the iPhone and iPod touch. It sports a 9.7-inch multi-touch display, offers video and audio playback, supports most iPhone apps, includes its own ebook reader and ebook store, includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, and some models include 3G wireless data support, too.

KT will be offering the 3G0compatible iPad at a subsidized price for customers that agree to sign up for a two year 2 GB per month data plan.
