iPad May be Coming to Target

· by · Rumor

Apple’s iPad may be headed to Target store shelves in early October assuming tipsters are reading the digital tea leaves correctly.

According to Engadget, Target’s in-store inventory tracking PDAs are listing six unnamed devices that exactly match Apple’s iPad pricing structure. They also list the products in the Digital Audio section, which is also where ereader devices are listed.

Apparently the mystery products will be available in Target stores on October 3.

While product listings without names isn’t positive proof that Apple plans to start selling the iPad in Target stores, the six price listings seems like quite a coincidence. Apple already sells the iPad at Best Buy locations, however, so expanding out into Target stores isn’t exactly a reach.

Since Apple isn’t saying whether or not it plans to sell the iPad in Target, the information gleaned from the retailer’s inventory scanners should be treated as rumor and speculation.
