iPhoto 8.1.1 Update Improves Face Recognition

· by · Product News

Apple released the iPhoto 8.1.1 update for iPhoto '09 late on Tuesday. The update for the digital photo management application fixed an issue where faces were incorrectly matched.

The update also improved performance when displaying suggested face matches, fixed an issue where information was displayed in the book order panel incorrectly in some languages, and now displays the correct icon for the second generation iPod touch in the source list.

Users that imported photos of people with iPhoto '09 update 8.1 need select the imported images and use the Detect Missing Faces command to locate faces that were previously missed and to correct incorrectly identified faces.

The iPhoto 8.1.1 update for iPhoto '09 is available via the Software Update application, or as a downloadable installer at the Apple Support Web site.
