Apple released iPhoto 9.3 Monday afternoon, adding the ability to open Aperture 3.3 image libraries, along with support for AVCHD video. iPhoto is Apple’s image management and touch up application that’s included with the iLife suite for the Mac.

Along with Aperture library and AVCHD support, version 9.3 also changed the description field to auto-expand when adding text, added the ability to flag photos when magnified, added support for retaining keywords and titles when exporting images with GPS data, added the ability to group images in subfolders by event when exporting, and added retina display support for the just released MacBook Pro refresh.
iPhoto is priced at US$14.99 and is available through Apple’s Mac App Store. The update is a free download through the Software Update application or the Updates tab in the App Store application.
