Apple's iTunes Radio streaming music service is off to a strong start with 20 million listeners and over a billion songs played in it's first month. That announcement came from Apple CEO Tim Cook speaking at the company's media event Tuesday morning.
iTunes Radio listener count tops 20 million
"We have 20 million listeners, and that number continues to grow," Mr. Cook said.
iTunes Radio is Apple's streaming music competitor to services like Spotify, Pandora, and Rdio. It links to the iTunes Store so listeners can easily buy the songs they hear, and it's compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Apple TV, as well as Macs and Windows PCs running iTunes.
Apple is expected to announce new iPad models at today's media event, which is still underway. Be sure to follow along with our live coverage.
