iTunes Movies Debut in France, Ireland

Apple announced on Friday that it has begun offering iTunes Store movie downloads in France and Ireland. Movies from Hollywood studios such as Universal, Disney and Warner Bros., as well as offerings from European studios will be available, and will include both movie purchases and rentals.

Popular movies like Avatar, Up, Inglorious Basterds and Coco are already available.

Movie purchases will start at €7.99, recent released will cost €9.99, and new releases will be priced at €13.99. Movie rentals will cost €2.99, or €3.99 for new releases, and HD rentals will cost an extra €1.

iTunes Store movie rentals and purchases can be played in iTunes, on movie-compatible iPods, the iPhone and iPad, and AppleTV.
