Jeff Gamet, John F. Braun get Back to the Mac on MacJury

The Mac Observer’s Jeff Gamet and John F. Braun joined MacJury host Chuck Joiner and several other guests on the MacJury podcast to share their thoughts on Apple’s “Back to the Mac” special media event.

The podcast panel also included Jean MacDonald from Smile Software, Angry Mac Bastard’s Peter Cohen, and Steve Sande from TUAW.

The group first dove into the new MacBook Air, what it offers, who it is for, and how it stacks up against competing classes of laptops. Next, they took a look at iLife ‘11, along with what was and wasn’t updated in the creativity suite, why the new GarageBand capabilities are cool, who it can help learn to play an instrument and how, and why the Movie Trailers feature of iMovie may just improve your life. The panel also debated what the Mac App Store will mean for users and developers alike, how it could change software distribution, licensing and more.
