John F. Braun Discusses SSD Performance on NosillaCast

· by · TMO Appearances

The Mac Observer’s own John F. Braun joined Allison Sheridan and the NosillaCast team on Saturday to talk about solid state drive performance along with the fine art of reading Mac OS X’s console logs.

NosillaCast

John dove into why some solid state drives (SSD) slow down over time, hardware and software solutions for maintaining SSD performance, and Mac OS X 10.7’s TRIM command support and why that’s important for SSD users. He also discussed the crash logs Mac OS X maintains, how to find them, and how to interpret the information they hold.

The NosillaCast team records their podcast live every Sunday, and it’s available at the iTunes Store as well as the NosillaCast Web site.
