LaCie Introduces Rikiki Portable Hard Drive, Claims Most Compact on Market

LaCie has introduced a new drive called Rikiki that it claims is the most compact 2.5" external drive on the market. Rikiki is being offered in capacities of 250GB, 500GB, and 640GB, and has a brushed aluminum case that is fingerprint resistant.

The device is USB 2.0 only, and works with the Mac or Windows. The drive also comes with simple backup software solution.

Rikiki is priced at US$74.9 for 250GB, $109.99 for 500GB, and $149.99 for 640GB.

the dimensions are exactly the same as most 2.5 portable drives; just a tad thinner.  Problem is the LaCie label which has a history of early failures.

Other than to say the case is nice, I have no LaCie experiences to speak of.
