· by · Product News

LaCie unveiled its first Thunderbolt-compatible drive on Friday in the form of its well known Little Big Disk. The drive is compatible with the Thunderbolt port found on Apple’s just updated MacBook Pro models.

Little Big Disk gets Thunderbolt support

Thunderbolt is a new interface technology developed by Intel and available on Apple’s new MacBook Pro lineup. It offers bi-directional 10Gbps throughput, supports up to six devices in a chain, and supports external displays and projectors, too.

LaCie plans to ship its Thunderbolt-compatible Little Big Disk by summer. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
