Last Day to get AppleCare+ for iPhone 4S Pre-Orders

· by · News

Monday is the last day to get AppleCare+ for your iPhone 4S if you pre-ordered it. Apple modified its AppleCare warranty for iPhone when the iPhone 4S was announced—the new plan, called AppleCare+, costs $30 more and adds accidental damage protection. Apple also now requires the plan to be purchased the same day as the iPhone itself, with Monday, November 14th, the deadline for those who pre-ordered their device.

AppleCare+ for iPhone

From the online Apple Store’s entry on AppleCare+ for iPhone [emphasis added]:

How to get AppleCare+
AppleCare+ must be purchased together with your new iPhone. To buy it, add it to your shopping cart during the checkout process when you purchase your new iPhone.

Note: Through November 14, AppleCare+ can be purchased by customers who:

Pre-ordered iPhone 4 (8GB) or iPhone 4S
Purchased an iPhone (any model) on or after October 14, 2011 (proof of purchase date may be required)

Contact us at 1-800-275-2273 to purchase AppleCare+.

Note that while AppleCare+ adds coverage for two incidents of accidental damage, there is a US$49 charge for replacement fee that is in addition to the up-front cost of the warranty, something that some have argued comes with even more hidden costs.
