Lonely Planet Offers Free Guides During US Snow Storm

Lonely Planet announced on Wednesday that it is offering up several of its iPhone, iPad and iPod touch city guides for free during the massive snow storm that’s covering a substantial portion of the U.S. The company is offering the guides for free so stranded travelers will have an easy way to find local activities, restaurants and hotels while they wait for flights back home.

Lonely Planet is offering its 14 U.S. and Canada guides for free through 6PM pacific time on Friday, February 4. The guide list includes:

The company previously offered its European city guide apps for free during the Iceland volcano eruption and the holiday snow storms that hit most of the continent.

The Lonely Planet guides are regularly priced at US$5.99 each and are available for download at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
